Taco Night

Tonight we had our friends, the Smith family, over for dinner. We had a great time with them and reached a probably soon-to-be-common milestone of having a separate kid table. I always feel really intimidated by feeding other people's kids because kids are so picky and I pretty much just serve what I want with mine and don't really care too much if they don't eat it, but I feel like that's not good hospitality so I am hesitant to do that with other people's kids. So we did tacos. Because who doesn't like tacos? And if you don't, they are easily customizable so you can just have a plate of chips if you want, which is basically what Clara ate. It went really well and I am glad we were able to get together.

Aiden Turns One

Today was Nate and Carla's youngest child Aiden's birthday party.  It was held in the basement of their church, as the number of people attending was more than could be held in a house.  They had a couple bounce houses set up for the kids, and they also provided lunch and cake.  We happened to end up sitting at the same table as their family and also Carla's parents, who were in town from Montana for the event.  This meant we had front and center seats for the official smashing/eating of the cake by Aiden, who is at the opposite end of the table from us in the above picture.  Joshua and Clara both loved the cake and would be willing to go to birthday parties every day of their lives if given the option.
