Rainy Day Fun

Today, for seemingly the 82nd day in a row, it rained. There are lots of places you can go that are inside around here, but I am not all that excited about them. The kids generally enjoy things outside and, if they don't, things outside tend to be free or close-to-free, so it's no loss if we leave. Things like open gyms or fun kid places tend to be pricier and the kids can get overwhelmed or be too shy to really play much since they tend to be very crowded, probably especially in the summer. So we tend to stay home on rainy days.  I decided to take out the bounce house today and the kids liked it quite a bit. Especially, surprisingly, Hannah. She really liked the feeling of being bounced from the pressure of the other two bouncing. Clara and Joshua both enjoyed it as well, so that was a fun way to spend the afternoon.

After Clara went down for her nap, Joshua said he wanted to paint with a brush. So I gave him the paints and he had a fun time for awhile, but then he decided to paint his hands and switch to finger painting. He's so funny because he will spend like 10 minutes finger painting and then decide he's done. Once he's done, it's a huge problem that he has paint on his hands (and chest, legs, arms, and face). Until then, it's fine. I really hope the weather clears up this weekend, but in the meantime, we managed to have a fun day despite the weather.
