First Day

Today Joshua had his first ever day of preschool. I am hoping it is something he enjoys and we continue throughout the year. His first day seemed to go well, though it did tire him out a lot. I am definitely going to start naptime earlier for him next time because he does get so much more worn out from going to school than staying home, but otherwise he seemed to have a good day and when I picked him up he told me he didn't want to go home.
Later in the afternoon, our good day became a great day when someone in our neighborhood called us and said they thought maybe they had Alex in their garage. They said he hissed every time they went near him so we were really hopeful because he is psychotically awful to people who aren't us when he's not in our house. Jason went to go see, and it was indeed Alex and he didn't even seem sorry about all the worry he had caused us. We had really decided he was probably dead or at least almost certainly gone forever so we were elated he was back, but I feel like he just felt like he went out and had an adventure and came back to his house on his own. He seems healthy and uninjured, but I hope he at least had something that scared him so he won't be too eager to go out again. So far he just seems exhausted and hungry, and totally content to stay in. We are so glad to have him back.
