Eight Days in California

Every year my company brings together everyone in the Sales and Marketing organizations for our kickoff of the sales year.  It's typically a three or four-day event.  Also, every two or three years, we have something called Ranger Training which is mandatory training for all Sales Engineers in our company worldwide.  This is typically a three-day event.  In years where we have both events, they are usually at different times of the year.  This year, however, they are back-to-back.  This is not ideal, because I'm gone for eight days, and Meghan is home with the kids the entire time.  But it's 100% mandatory for my job, so there's not much we can do.  Ranger Training is here in San Mateo, and on Monday we are all traveling to LA for Kickoff, so it's a long west coast trip.  And we pretty much have training/homework/presentations/activities from morning till night, often with catered food in the hotel so we can keep working while eating.  Tonight, though, we had time to go out to eat, so most of us went to a nearby sushi restaurant.  I like sushi quite a bit, but I don't have many opportunities to get it at home.  Being near the ocean, I hoped it would be good, but in fact it was fantastic.  The unending days of work stuff isn't great, but it's nice that at least we get treated to some nice food along the way.
