The Short Lifespans of Pre-Lit Christmas Trees

The first Christmas tree that Meghan and I had was an unlit one that required you to string your own lights.  Our next one was a pre-lit 9-foot tree to take advantage of the vaulted ceiling in the front room of our old house.  But after a few years, some of the sections of lights started not to light up.  There's not really a way to fix that, so we got a new tree.  A few years later, some of the sections of lights started not to light up.  Yep, same thing.  So we had to get a new tree.  The next year we moved to this house, which of course does not have vaulted ceilings, so our tree is the same height as our ceiling.  Whatever, close enough.  Anyway, that tree worked well for three Christmases.  This year, I pulled it out of the box, set it up, and what did I get?  Yep, some of the sections of lights didn't light up.  This is frustrating.  Here I am attempting to show my sadness at the situation.
